Galápagos Tortoise
My favorite animal at the Oklahoma City Zoo was the Tortoise. We got to watch them eat and meet their zoo keeper. They are big and slow! And have really big feet. They don’t have any teeth so when they eat their food, they crunch down with their lips and just swallow. There throats are really big to swallow the big chunks of food. The Tortoise’s at the zoo are named Max, Ms. Bee, and Zoe.
My mom made me research the difference between turtles and tortoises. Both are reptiles. They are quite the same actually. They both come from the same order, but different families. The biggest difference between the them is that tortoises habitat is land and turtles can live in the sea. Tortoises cannot swim but are still a type off turtle. – Madison (with help typing from mom)
